Citadel is seeking an EHS consultant to add to our Industrial Hygiene and Safety team. This consultant will be instrumental in supporting our clients in the Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego markets. You have the opportunity to be based out of Citadel’s office in Costa Mesa or Glendale and occasionally working from home if desired and where it makes sense. You must have technical consulting skills in industrial hygiene and preferable safety.

This position will focus on industrial hygiene consulting, including developing IH strategies, conducting exposure monitoring, and performing IAQ/moisture investigations. In this position, you will also have opportunities to develop and implement written safety programs, conduct assessments, develop and perform trainings, and support our clients to help them improve their EHS performance. This position will also require project management and client management.

The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of experience in industrial hygiene and safety. Some consulting experience is preferred. Industry experience in healthcare, pharma, medical device, technology, or manufacturing is desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing technical reports are critical. Certifications including CIH and CSP are highly desirable.

Job Description:

Citadel Environmental Services, Inc. seeks a Project-level Engineer or Geologist  for their Engineering and Environmental Sciences group to manage a wide spectrum of environmental projects for high-profile Clients, develop and mentor junior staff, and assist the Director with the long-term planning for growth.  The ideal candidate will have significant experience completing and managing environmental projects from inception to closure including Phase I ESAs, Phase II Investigations, Site Cleanups for Soil and Groundwater, UST Removals, Permitting, Storm Water, and other tasks as assigned.  Candidate must have excellent speaking and presentation skills with proven success negotiating with the Federal EPA, RWQCB, DTSC, LAFD, AQMD, and other agencies on behalf of the Client. 

Ideal candidate will show and describe Client, project and people management experience with increasing responsibility and accountability within the last three years.  This candidate will report to the Director of Engineering and Environmental Sciences  and will be responsible for project staffing, schedules and development, project budgets, business development, Client management and budget control, and successful time management.  Current California professional license as an engineer or geologist, or ability to attain such license within one-year of hire is required.  Candidate must possess strong written and oral skills, project management experience, and be self-motivated. The successful candidate will be a high-energy, people person, with the ability to “wear many hats” and have a desire to grow and develop professionally.

1. Degree in Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences or Equivalent.

2. Five to 7 years of field-task and management related experience required.

3. Professional Licensure in Engineering (Civil preferred) or Geology, or ability to obtain within one year of hiring.

4. Self-starter and responsiveness in in a high-functioning consulting office environment is a must.

5. Moderate knowledge of environmental field equipment, such as PID, FID, Dustrak, and other applicable field sampling equipment.

5. Moderate to advanced knowledge of office tools including MS Office, Word, and Excel and excellent written and verbal communication skills are absolutely required.

6. Should possess good organizational skills and time management practices.

7. Limited overnight travel is required.

Citadel Environmental Services, Inc. seeks a Field Representative to provide technical services such as physical surveys, visual inspections, air monitoring, sample analysis, and site investigations to support Client programs.  Ideal candidate will possess project oversight and Environmentally-Regulated Materials (ERMs) survey experience in the commercial, health care, educational, and retail environments.  California asbestos and lead certification is highly desired.  Candidate must possess strong written and oral skills and be self-motivated.
