In August of 2006, Citadel was contracted by the California Department of Transportation to provide Environmentally Regulated Materials and Industrial Hygiene services for litigation support in conjunction with a class-action law suit brought about by local residents as part of the I-210/CA 30 Highway extension project in Southern California.

Over the course of two years, Citadel surveyed approximately 375 plaintiff homes for asbestos, lead, and microbial growth. Citadel’s dedicated project team, in conjunction with the legal team, developed defense strategies, devised sampling protocol, designed databases, and collected thousands of air, settled dust, soil, bulk, and tape lift samples. Cal Trans’ proactive approach, with Citadel’s help, led to the plaintiffs withdrawing from the case.
